Byron Varberg is a software developer practicing in Kansas City.
Over the last 10 years, I've built web applications with talented technologists at Crema and Cerner.
With these teams I've grown new software products from zero to one and refined long-lived systems to meet changing user needs. In 2024, one of these products won an award for innovation in its industry. Most of them are quietly helping people get things done.
I have years of practical experience with TypeScript and React, and I'm often involved in a mix of strategic work and building in the front-end -- though capable of contributing across the stack.
Among colleagues and clients, I'm known for a principled approach and thoughtful communication. I advocate for process and practices that help teams work with care and deliver quality.
And away from the keyboard...?
I'm also an amateur woodworker, making small scale furniture primarily with hand tools.
I've been following the Premier League and supporting Tottenham longer than I've been making software. Come on you Spurs!
